Leah ran in the house today and said, "hey momma, there is a big spider in the yard, I think it is a terranchula!" (I have no idea how to spell that word!) And I just said, well, it is just a spider, leave it alone if it is in the yard. Then, all 3 of my kids, plus 2 of the neighbor kids ran in and were yelling and excited....and were like, you have to come look NOW! (Clay still just kept sitting there.....) So, I go out there, and this is what I saw!!!! I said, "Noah, go get the camera!" LOL and immediately thought....a blog post! My neighbors came outside, and us women were just staring at it like, what do we do?? Her husband scooped him up and took him to the woods....but that was our excitement for the day!!
This photo...I think it was snarling at the neighbor's dog...that was creepy!
Holy Crap!! Should you have called Animal Control or something. Those things don't like naturally live here do they??? Maybe that big giaganto thing escaped the zoo.

ReplyDeleteUGH! that is so completely ridiculous. and the most ridiculous is that y'all didn't kill it. really, just because it had hair didn't make it a mammal! put a boot on that sucker!
and i have heard that there is a non-venomous arkansas variety - i've just been lucky enough to not have come across one yet. and if i do, there will be a boot involved, not mine, mind you, but somebody's.
I couldn't kill it...the kids were all yelling...DON'T KILL IT!!! Plus, I can kill little spiders and bugs....but that was like killing an animal or something it was so big!

ReplyDeleteOk, I am back to look at the spider again... You should have put your hand on the ground beside it and took a picture of that so we can really see how big it was! That FREAKS ME OUT!
ReplyDeleteUmm hello whose boot would ya'll have used?? I was thinking get in the truck and throw it in Drive...Stop...Reverse, and then maybe stop on it hold the brake and let off really fast (squeal tires)....
