2 weeks old

Christian is 2 weeks old. He is a good baby!! I had been prepared for him to be a screamer....but he is not. Very laid back...sleeps a lot, is eating well....and loves to be held. Luckily, I never run out of someone wanting to hold him when I need it. After being used to caring for Talan, Christian seems like easy peasy. Besides the lack of sleep at night, (he has been waking up a lot) he has been as easy of an adjustment as Zachariah was. He just fits with our family so well. I can't get enough of his sweet baby smell, and kissing on his soft skin!! He is just precious. We are so happy to have him. It was so sureal at first just being handed a 1 day old baby. I had someone in the store yesterday ask me how old he was, and I said 2 weeks, and she said, "oh, how are you?" That was the moment that I paused and thought...how should I answer that...she thinks I gave birth to him. I just smiled and said, oh, I am o.k. and she patted my arm in sympathy. I told Clay I should have told her he was my 5th child, or really 7th baby, 8th child, and it was a piece of cake. Haha! Brandy commented the other day about having a newborn, and not being worn out from carrying him 9 months. I tell ya....she is so right. I HATED being pregnant. It was pure torture to me...but I loved the end result. I hated the pure exhausted, can't think, can't move, can't function feeling trying to care for my babies. Despite the emotional side of not knowing if Christian will ever be "mine".....I have to say, this is how I prefer to get my baby!! Feeling good, plenty of energy, not starting out at my lowest....sure makes it easier to enjoy these first few weeks! Since I wasn't able to know Zachariah during his first 6 weeks of life, and have wondered what he was like, it has been even more special to get to have his brother.
