In the year 2005, we took our first vacation as a family. This was a huge step for up....venturing out with our 3 kiddos. We were very nervous, having no idea how they would do with the long car ride, and doing on the beach, so we chose to go to Biloxi/Gulfport area. We had been there before, and knew it wasn't crowded at all, had calm waves, and only a 6 hr car ride.
We left on Leah's 3rd Birthday. We first went to my grandmother's house in Louisiana, and left once the kiddos were good and tired in hopes they would sleep most the way there. They traveled really well, and we were so proud of them! I realized that a beach vacation is the best one with our little ones b/c they were scared enough not to get in the water, but will just hang out and play in the sand, while I just sit there and watch them!
THe only thing we didn't like about this beach is the water was kinda brown with this brown looking seaweed that was all over the sand. Otherwise, it was a gigantic playground for my kiddos!
Our vacation here was 1 year before Hurricane Katrina. I talk about that more in the post below this one.
