In answer to Heather's question, our rates on our internet/cable have gone up from $30 a month for both (introductory offer) to $70 for JUST the cable...and we have to have the cable to get internet b/c we don't have a home phone, and I refuse to get one. One of the joys of having your own business.....all the things involved with it, have to come out of our pocket. So, where most people get to play on their internet at work for free....well, that comes at a price for us, and did you know, that just b/c it is a business, they charge more for a phone/internet line?? Why, b/c they can. Urgh!
I know that last paragraph just sounded like a rant.....and it really isn't...just a fact of life...bills, bills, bills.....and this is the only one we can really cut out to save money around here. I am sad about this yes......but I am dealing....I just won't get to blog, read everyone else's blog, and check my e-mails 20 times a day. Which, I know, is probaby a good thing....I am sure I will have much more time to get things done....also without cable too. But, this is my way of communication, my link to the outside world b/c I only go to the office once a week, and otherwise am at home....and hate to get on the phone. So, I will just have go to the office more often. Please pray for me while I get used to this.....I am sure I will go through withdrawals....I get in a bad mood just when someone else is on her and I can't get on the computer when I want! Yes, I have issues, I admit it.
So, the kids were more upset about the cable. Noah literally cried. We unhooked it a couple of days ago as a trial, and all they have done is whine about missing Sponge Bob. So, today at Walmart, I found them 3 DVD's that were $5 each of Sponge Bob..... I was actually excited about that part of no cable!
So....I will still be blogging......just maybe not as often....so when I do, I may do a few posts at a time. We will see. I believe this is my last night of internet.......boo hoo!
NOOOOOOOOOO!! We are going to miss you!! Maybe we should start a fund for you!!
ReplyDeleteoh I'm so sad, but totally understand. We don't have good cable, but I won't go without internet. We actually went the past 3 years without cell phones because we would just talk on IM.
ReplyDeleteAnd, to answer your question, I went to jr high and high school in Warren - so I am from there I guess. I lived there from 93 to 99 - and I did my freshman year of college at UAM before moving to Utah and meeting my husband, we then graduated from the UofU and he started medical school in Iowa. I've moved my whole life, so I don't have one place to call home, but I have most of my memories from Warren. It's a fun place. My parents moved from there back to Washington State (where they are from & I was born) in 2000, so now I really don't know where to call home.
Sorry to leave such a long history of a comment, but I really do love reading your blog and love your pictures! I hope you do find time to blog and do ok without the internet! You can do it!
Oh my I am sorry to see you go :(
ReplyDeleteI do understand though-You will be severely missed!!!
My husband said that AT&T is offering DSL without the phone. You might want to check into that.
ReplyDeletei'm interested in the dsl without the phone b/c that is why we don't have internet at home...b/c i hate to pay a phone bill on top of the internet bill when we don't even use the phone and those satellite thingees to go with our directv for internet is like 500 dollars and then 100 dollars a month...nope can't do it! i understand where are coming from and i look to you for doing without tv. I would croak if i didn't have tv. my kids wouldn't care near as much as me! haha
