The Clinton Library

Saturday was free admission at the Clinton Presidential Library in honor of his birthday. We have talked about how we "should have gone" everytime they have had one of these free days since we moved up here. We finally decided to give it a try. We live close enough, that if it was just totally crazy, it was free, and nothing to lose. Clay announced that they were serving free cake, so Leah was good to go. That is all she could ask about, over and over again. This girl LOVES cake. Anytime cake is served anywhere, she eats every last crumb...and wants more.
I have been wanting to go for awhile, we just never have. Noah has been studying the presidents, and was really excited about going. There were a lot of people there, but it wasn't wild. It was just hard for me to get up close enough to see anything b/c of my big double stoller in the way of all the people. Of course, all eyes were on us...as they always are. I have gotten to where I don't even make eye contact a lot of the time just b/c I get tired of the various looks I get from people. Most people are nice, but I just get tired of calling attention to myself everywhere we go. I know that is unavoidable. Anyway, Noah and I decided that we would like to go back sometime b/c we both wanted to be able to read about the exhibits. It is really nice in there.

I love the view

The sun was bright coming in those big glass windows
They had a space exhibit going on, but we didn't see all of it, after waiting on elevators for 2 floors, we decided we had seen enough.

This photo makes me laugh. What a lively bunch...haha.
Leah finally got her cake!!!

  2. I agree, it wasn't nearly as wild as I thought it would be.

    Your pics are awesome!!

Girl, I know what you mean about the looks. I never told you what happened to us. We were at that little astronaut thing that you put your face through, taking pics of the kids. It was our five and my friends three. We had waited in line (patiently I might add!) and when it was our turn, I let a lady with one child go ahead of us so she would not have to wait. She graciously thanked me, made her picture and left. While I was taking our pics, this older man and his family walked up behind us. He started making all sorts of comments about how surely we couldn't have one more to take a picture of. I finally turned around in his face and said "I'm sorry!" (rather sarcastically, I admit). He just KEPT on about how we must have brought a tour bus. I turned around again and said "Sir, I have five children if that is okay with you!" He wouldn't look directly at me but kept smirking and making snide comments. I proceeded to tell him how extremely rude he was. Girl, my heart was pounding I was so mad!!!!! You could tell they were a family that probably was not used to having to wait their turn.

Other than that, and the rude trolley driver, we had a great time!

If you go back and pay to get in, you get a souveineir ticket. We got them in May and they are really nice. I think it would take several trips to fully absorb all of the info there!
