trip to the ER

Talan has been doing pretty good since he came home from the hospital, but I am learning how to tell when he just isn't feeling good. He had a couple of not good days about a week after he came home. That day, he was having trouble with his feeds, and he threw one up. He was really sleepy for 2 days, and not pooping either. After everything he has been through, I was worried. Clay was working until 11:00 that night, and I just didn't want to wait until then to take him. So, Me, and 5 kids loaded up, and headed to the ER at 8:00 pm. I was worried how they would do, especially Zachariah. They did great!! We were put in a cubby that had a t.v. and video games, the kids had packed markers and books, and they got a lot of stickers from the hospital staff. Zachariah was way better than I had hoped...I only took him out of the stroller once, and Clay came about 11:15 to pick up Zach and Rachel. I can't believe they made it that long! Noah and Leah wanted to stay with me, (I was really regretting letting wiggle worm Leah stay) and we were there until after 1 am. They gave him some medicine to make him go poopy, and then they suctioned out his nose. He has had a lot of problems with extra secretions after being intibated, and reintibated a few times when he was in ICU. After getting his belly, and his nose/throat all clear, he was able to keep his feed down, and we came on home. Bless his heart, everything in his body has to be just perfect for him to tolerate his feeds. I am still in awe that they did as well as they did for that length of time in the ER. You know I was getting looks from everyone, but luckily they weren't the "make your kids behave" dirty looks...just the...you are crazy with all those kids looks! haha

This double stroller is a life saver for me....it makes me feel like I have 2 extra set of hands!
