A sleepover with a special little girl

Another behind post...as in, this happened in July and I am just now blogging about it. Whenever Talan was in the hospital, we invited Amber, (our former foster daughter) over for a sleepover. It has been such a blessing to get to stay in touch with their grandmother. When I get to missing them, I can just call her, and she is more than happy to let us get together. The kids were beside themselves excited. We just let Amber come, so the next day I could take Zachariah to daycare, and take just the 4 big kids to the movies. I had the best time!! I didn't know how she would act, as we never went to the movies when she lived with us...(you know, 2 babies!) but she sat beside me and was perfect! We went to the $1 theatre and watched the Hannah Montana movie...which was really good, I thought.
A trip to Mc Donald's...that is a big treat...we don't eat out much, and never get Happy Meals...(I just can't bring myself to pay the $25 it costs to feed our family...at McD's!)

She is looking so different with her short hair, and getting so grown up. I can tell a big difference in how she acts, and I think being with her grandmother has been great for her.
Leah is POUTING in this photo b/c she got a different animal from the other 3 kids...what a shame, huh? I kept trying to tell her that was a cool thing....but I think she finally convinced Amber to trade with her. Good grief!
This girl's hair used to be so long, and it was a NIGHTMARE to brush it and fix it!! It was so fun to fix her hair without her screaming at me.

  1. That's wonderful you got to spend time with Amber. She looks so happy with you all. Jessica and I saw the Hannah Montana Movie and we loved it. Great music. Actually I would like to see it again sometime.
