Having fun with my girl....

My Leah, my middle child (and yes, my dramatic one!) is really growing up! Just the last few months, her looks have changed, and her personality has just blossomed. She has become a lot more outgoing, and is goofy as can be!
Thanks to my great friend Suzanne's great idea of having a "BOSS" for the week, I got to spend some 1:1 time with Leah yesterday. What I love about having a Boss, is when there is a decision to be made that the 3 normally fight over, I can just say...Leah is the boss....and that solves a lot of conflict. The kids drew for the order they would get to be boss, and poor Leah was 3rd. She of course had her meltdown at the time....and chose to whine about it on occasion the last couple of weeks, but finally got her time to shine this week. And lets just say, she loves to declare, "I am the BOSS" all of the time! If you have several kids, you know that at times, their personalities all just kinda merge together...so getting 1:1 time with each one is AWESOME, and also sometimes a surprise.....to see how they have changed since the last time you got true 1:1 time together.
Leah and I went to Hobby Lobby together last night, and we just looked and looked...and she would just say the silliest things, but was such fun company for me! Normally when I am in there with the 3 of them, everyone is whining, fighting over who rides in the buggy....you get the picture. We really had a lot of fun together, so then I suggested we go to Barnes & Noble. We go to the library all the time, but my kids have never been to a book store. She loved it! We walked around and looked forever! I was excited to see in the kids section that we had already read so many of the books there from the library! That was fun for me. And I was walking around the kids section, I was remember how I absolutely loved books, and loved to read as a little girl. When I was just a little older than Leah, I would read any book I could ever find about a horse. And my mom said she did the same as a little girl. And now Leah, loves horses, so I bought her 2 of the Breyers Stablemate books. They have small chapters, and we began reading one last night, and I think she is going to really enjoy them.
And as I was hanging with my daughter...who is no longer a little girl, but is blossoming into a beautiful, silly young lady, I saw that she is a lot more like me than I have ever thought. She always has such a laid back, I don't care attitude about everything....just like her dad...but it was so fun to see her have interests like mine. I think when she is around the other 2, she tends to take on whatever personality they are displaying at the time...she has always been that way.
I don't want this post to seem like I always ignore Leah my middle child, it is just so cool to see how different all 3 of my kids act when they aren't around each other, and have my full attention!

This is her new favorite face to make!

  1. I love one on one time. It's hard to get but so worth it! I love the pictures, the ones with her pulling faces are my favorites!

  2. i also love one on one time. they are so different when they aren't around each other. jackson is so calm and grown up acting when lauren isn't around and lauren is so silly and girly when jackson isn't around and minds well! i guess they feel they are competing (sp?) for attention when they are together!
