They are the Roses

Have you heard this song? The version we have is by Acappella. You can listen to the song here.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbVlJeAQUTQ. Clay has it on his ipod, and even though I had heard the song, I had never really paid attention to the lyrics. One day, during the time we were working on the Heart Gallery Website, he came to me and said, this is the song that needs to be on the website. He told me to listen to it, and I loved the words. Last night I sat down and read Christie's entire book...and just bawled. I have still been heavy hearted about it today, and have also been doing a lot of self reflecting...I need to make a lot of changes in myself. My attitude lately stinks. I want to talk more on that later. Anyway, as I was cleaning the kitchen today, I was listening to it, and these words spoke volumes to me. Brought me to tears, and I prayed for this ministry that God has lead me to do, but I haven't been seeing it as much of a ministry lately. Here are the words...please take the time to read them, and think of any foster child you know, your own children, or just look at just one county's Heart Gallery, and pray for these kids.
They are the Roses...
Born with Heaven in their eyes
God sent, innocent
The promise of life.
Born into this mess that we've made
Holding the future
And hope for better days.
'Cause there is nothing more beautiful and wild
Than the dreams that grow in every heart of every child.
They are the roses
They are the lights that shine
They are the waves that roll in the ocean tide
They are angels
They are souls in flight
They are the hope that
Everything's gonna be alright
They are the roses
Imagine a place
Filled with happy sounds of playgrounds
Where every child is safe.
Where people join hands
And pray that the children
Will all have a chance
In every family, every tribe, and every town
We're the keepers of this garden
And we can't let them down
Imagine a place
Where all people join hands
Where every child is safe.

  1. powerful lyrics. and so true. You do have a ministry and you will be blessed for showing God's children the love they need.
