our 1st day of school

Monday was our 1st day of school. I had a few fun things planned for them, and they enjoyed them. I was exhausted at the end of the day, and then I was very sick the next day, and today I had to take one of the babies to their doc appointment, but I just had the kids bring their work along with us, and it kept them occupied, and got it done.
Leah is in the 2nd grade
Rachel is in 1st grade
Noah is in the 3rd grade

We started out coloring back to school bookmarks
Then, for our time capsules, I found these "all about me" pages. Even though they are my kids and I know them well, I enjoyed reading the answers they put down. This was a fun activity with the kids.

I read a book about a kid's 1st day of school,

Just relaxing on the couch doing her work

traced their hands to add to their time capsules

I included their about me pages, their handprints, and a photo of their first day. We will do the same activity at the end of the year before we open them, and see how they have changed throughout the year.
They made colorful name pages to hang up in our school room
We had a lot of reading time too b/c all those books in that previous post were due back this week. Then, we got out this book that Leah checked out and did some finger painting.

Then, for lunch, since the dining table was full of drying pictures, they decided to have a picnic lunch outside.
Noah is off to water his pumpkins he has planted...that will have to be for another blog post...
