So much can be accomplished without the internet

Have you missed me? I have actually been away from blogland longer than my posts let on. We took a trip to Branson, but I scheduled a couple of my posts to start while I was gone. Then, getting back, we didn't have internet for 5 days...oh the horror! haha I was really restless the first day, and then decided to drag out some old projects. I have put all this aside having babies around, but now that I don't have my little sweetie to hold, and Z is getting too big to want to be held, my arms feel empty.
It is amazing what you can get accomplished without being distracted by blogs, facebook, or running to the computer everytime you want to look something up! I didn't even sit in this computer chair for those days.
As I was telling my mom that I got a lot of stuff done with internet, Clay said, "but all you did was crochet!" Yes, I did a lot of that, but to my defense I also still took care of my family, helped do cleaning and organizing in the living room, school room, and got caught up on my laundry, AND ironing! We really should just not have internet, but I sure did miss it, and all my friends. Clay said on Tuesday, "well, do you like being back to civilization?" haha
I dug out my crochet tub and found this doily that only needed 3 more rows to be finished. I don't know why I put it up without finishing it. Stuff like that bugs me.

I started this blanket back when we lived in Maumelle, back when we only had 3 kids. I got frustrated with it b/c it was looking warped, and yarn is so expensive these days! My mom had bought me a blanket that I loved for cheaper than they yarn cost to make this one, so I just stopped working on it. Well, that was silly since I had already spent the money to buy the thread. So, I pulled this out, and finished it while our family watched the Back to the Future Trilogy. I did some rearranging, and reorganizing in the school room, and am liking it much better now.
In my digging around, I found these Christmas balls that I got for 90% off at the end of the year last year, and the kids and I sat down and painted them. It was fun to just sit around with them and paint, not worrying about doing housework while they are painting. I am really bad about doing that.
I had started this doily b/c I thought it was neat with the roses, but became frustrated with it quickly and put it away. I have now finished it since taking the photo and once I iron it, I think I will really like it.

  1. Oh what a great idea. To set up post while you are gone. I need to not get on for a few days and get things done around here! Great post and I love the throw.
