Meet Molly Anne

We got a puppy!!! I never thought there would be a day that I would announce that, but we did, and I love her. We all love her. She is a very sweet little puppy. We got her and surprised the kids when they got home. I named her Molly myself, but Leah picked Anne...and Noah said it had to have E on the end (Leah said they watched Anne of Green Gables this weekend...she has and E on her name!)

We adopted her from the Sherwood Animal Shelter. We were very impressed with their facility. Wow...it sure is easy to adopt a dog :) We were laughing at how easily we could just walk in, say we want a dog, pick her out, and leave with her within 30 mins. Much much different from our boys :) But funny, we got her, had nothing, so we went to Pet Smart and were just wondering around saying, "I can't believe we just got a dog...we have no clue what we are doing". We will take in all kinds kids, but a dog?? We have discussed this for months, fretted over it, and were terified when we got her. We are so goofy!

Noah is so much like me! He was right along with me in saying that we didn't want a dog...and now he can't get enough of her. He is picking her up more than the girls.

  1. You fooled me; I thought you had another kid. Instead you have a really cute, more expensive project! Hope she's house trained! Be forewarned: Are you aware of puppy chewing? It starts at about 6-7 months and lasts through the first year. Tell Clay to be sure to up all the cameras, cards, camera cases, electric cords away (really away). I lost a whole bag of recording gear (cords and mikes, etc.) to a puppy that looked somewhat like Molly Anne one night when I was doing field work with some fiddlers. One of my students this past quarter came in with a classic excuse when our interview-based essay was due. He said, "You won't believe this: my roommate's dog ate my interview tape" (and half of the recorder bag, although it didn't get to the recorder). Our border collie pups chewed the porch rockers, among other things. I found some good dog-training info on line. I hope you all have fun with her.

  2. Congrats! She's adorable! And I love the name Molly Anne, and I do agree Anne's need the E.

  3. She is adorable! I love how you said it was "easy" to adopt her. Here in NJ, it is so complicated to adopt a pet from the shelter, it discourages people from doing so. These animals need loving homes. Yours is blessed to have your family and be in your loving home! Enjoy!

  4. I get credit for helping you take the plunge....girl, you know we were never dog people. But once I got one, I couldn't stop. BRAVO on going to a shelter. I love beagles and Molly Anne can come visit her friends Poppy, Emmie, and Lucy anytime!
