Easter pictures

I found this little lamb for him at Mardels for just $5. When you squeeze it, it plays "Jesus loves me" and says a little prayer. It also has a little book with it that tells a story about Jesus. I had to get it for him, I thought it would be something special he could always keep.
I was way too close for this photo....but he is STANDING up to get these eggs! He has learned how to pull himself up to this bench. I believe it won't be long until we have us a little walking boy.

The kids had fun hiding their eggs and helping them find them. They didn't even want to do a hunt of their own. He was so funny. He got really mad at them! About the time he would find an egg, they would take it from him and put it in his basket. It didn't take him long to get mad at them for getting his eggs. He started squealing at them, in this high pitched squeal....there was definate meaning behind that. "leave my Easter eggs alone!" haha Rachel was trying to play an egg game with him later on, and he squealed at her....and it made her cry, she said he hurt her feelings! Now I couldn't help but get tickled at that! It is so fun to watch him become a person.....he is already find his place in their group. I believe he may be the leader. haha

Chocolate pizza

My mom got Leah the Betty Crocker Kids Cook book for Christmas. Not only does it go along with a lapbook to teach about cooking, but it also has a lot of fun recipes, and expains things very simply. We have all had a great time making the stuff in there. The other night, I made this for supper. I had already cooked a big pot of chili for lunch, so when talking about making this, the kids suggested since it is "pizza" lets have it fur supper. So we did! ANd then I had a sugar crash and burn stomach ache that evening, but it sure was yummy!

Yes, this isn't as lovely as the picture. I don't have a pizza pan, and then the dough was kinda sticky, so I couldn't smooth it out flat so well. I know what to do next time to improve the presentation, but it was stilly good to eat....and gone very quickly too.

Need an extra hand?

It was very funny to me to look up during school time and discover how Rachel was holding her bag of crayons. And she is so seriously concentrating on what she is doing too!

I hope you never see this again

So right outside the clubhouse is a big mud pile. I guess the girls were feeling adventurous. It started with them both at different times falling in the mud, and then they just went crazy. It is a good thing I was on the phone with Robin at the time or I may have had a nervous breakdown over this. I am a fairly carefree mom, I think...but I don't like to clean up dirt. We have never lived in a place that was practical for rolling in the mud, and it has always been forbidden. Now Robin is the cleanest person I know, and she told me it was O.K. to let them get muddy this time, so her words were ringing in my ear all the while cleaning them up, and I was able to deal with the muddy mess and stay sain. That is saying a lot for me. But.....I hope to never have to spend an hour of my life cleaning up mud again, thank you.

Oh, and a slow draining tub, and very muddy girls DO NOT mix. I've got a lot of cleaning yet to do. Isn't that the grossest thing?

New club house

The kids have finally learned how to have fun playing outside. Our backyard is pretty grown up, which we like b/c of the privacy. Noah's ball landed in the brush, and I was watching from the kitchen window....he was really stressing about getting his ball from the brush. Well, he finally got it, and they discovered this brush....made a sort of archway, and a whole world of discovery was back there. They rented The Little Rascals from the library not long ago, so that inspired them. They spent HOURS out there playing today. They started digging in my recycling bin to add to it. Not once did they come in whining to me that they were bored...which they normally do. I enjoyed standing at the window watching, and listening to them and their imagination.
I used to play outside a lot when I was their age. We had a Holly bush in our yard, and I loved to pick the berries and play kitchen outside with them. I was very imaginative in my own little world.....no playmates though, my friends were all made up. I can see there are many more hours of fun to be had out there for our kids.

They had to make a sign...Noah wanted it to be the HeMan Woman haters club, but I told him that wasn't such a good idea since he was sharing it with 2 women! haha So, they named it the Men and womens club....(kinda sounds like gentleman's club to me...haha)

Clay found this old chair in our yard under a window one day after we moved....not sure why it was there...inviting someone to break in possibly....or easy access for a teen to escape? Who knows, but it is not in the clubhouse.
Noah got some of Clay's twine, and they hung these bottles for their "decorations"

Leah said this bottle was their "food"
Found a feather

And some small trees back there to climb

Don't miss me too much...haha

Well, I got mad at AT&T today and cancelled my internet service, which will disconnect sometime tomorrow. You know I will somehow figure out a way to still get on the internet, but wanted to let everyone know what was up when I don't post or comment. I will miss everyone, and will probably go through major internet withdrawals, but am looking forward to not being obsessed with being on it. We may get it back, but we thought we would at least try it without it.
While I am gone, we will be doing lots of schoolwork,
lots of cooking,

And lots of bowl licking too!
