Why it's all worth it to me

Last night, on my other blog, I did a post about how hard and exhausting our life can be as a foster parent. Yes, it is hard, and I was pretty exhausted and overwhelmed last night. And then I clicked over to here www.thecallinarkansas.org and I was brought back to why the exhaustion is worth it. Please take the time to watch the video that is on the home page of their website. Just as everything that is involved with these kids brings tears to my eyes, this video did as well. And then when I showed it to my kids today (b/c they know some of the people on there) my voice was cracking as I was explaining the beginning of the video.

The video starts off with a little girl sitting in the DHS office while the case worker is calling all around looking for a home to place her in. I got choked up as I explained to our kids that was how 2 of our kids were waiting around for our case worker to call us. Yep....that is just too real to think about my babies.....trying to find someone, anyone that will take them.

Next, is Alicen Bennett speaking. She is our social worker. She is the one that called us to place our kids with us. She has a great heart. She does SO MUCH for these kids. Next is Mary Carol Pederson. She is the wife of Jason Pederson, from Channel 7 news. She is the founder/director of the CALL. Then it shows a playground full of kids. Several of my friends and the children they adopted are on that video. Baby Z's old foster mom, my friend Christie and her family are on there. So, that means a lot to me b/c I know their stories. Then it shows a family, The Meadors. They adopted 2 adorable little boys...ones I photographed last year in my studio about this time. They were in the group of families I photographed, and are a beautiful family.

I didn't know they had made a new video, I just happen to think I about wanting to check out that website, I haven't looked at it in forever. The Lord knew I needed to watch that to give me back my perspective. I am thankful for that.
