Again, it is so GREAT to be home! There is nothing like a long road trip with 3 young kids in a van packed TO THE MAX....and an uncomfortable bed, to make me miss home so badly.

We chose the beach vs Branson b/c I said that you have to go too many places in Branson to entertain yourself, and the beach, you can just relax and lay there. That is usually how it goes, but this year, aparently Alabama was having their Spring Break (I thought we were going late enough to miss all that) and there were TEENAGERS everywhere. And I mean kids under the age of 16, but acted like they thought they were in college....I have never seen more young girls with their bodies hanging out......and I just want to add....Would you let your teenage daughter wear a bikini that had JUICY across the butt of the bottoms??? I know my answer to that!!! And apparently...there were no chaperones for these kids!?!?! Nobody to tell them to quit yelling, quit talking trash, cover your bodies, quit hanging out in huge groups that block all the walkways, quit throwing each other in the pool and rough housing when small children are around, and for Pete's sake.....USE SOME MANNERS! They were the horrible about shoving past us in doorways, elevators, and the gate to the pool and beach.

So, that was my rant about our trip, and it was really very annoying, but I will move on and dwell on the good parts of our trip. The kids were very excited, and we love to see our children share our love for the beach. Yes, a very cold front moved in the first day we were there, for 2 days, and it was pretty cold. Luckily I did pack a sweater for all of us, and it ended up being o.k. The sun was pretty warm, so that helped. The kids didn't care....they just ran over every little bit to wipe their snotty noses b/c when it is 50 degrees outside, and the wind is blowing, and you feel you still have to get wet and then strip down to your bathing suit....then yes, your nose really runs! And besides, on the cold days....no teenagers were on the beach!

So I am trying to wash clothes today, and we apparently brough half the sand home with us! I will get around to posting pics soon.

And, if you come up with some creative ways to do some craft projects with seashells, pass along the idea. We collected a LOT this year, and the kids were so excited about each one they gathered, I really want to come up with something to do with them.

  1. haha, I have a few pairs of Juicy Couture jeans.....that's what the swimsuit bottoms meant. Not that I would wear THOSE, or let my kids, either, lol!

I figured you guys were frozen. The wind off that water can get chilly when it's not really too cold at all.

  2. ha ha and I was thinking picture frames, although not so creative, but something the kids could definitely do!!

We stayed at the old people side of the beach when we went to FL,LOL-someone said that to us as an insult once, and I was like, the laughs on you because that was the most peaceful time I have ever had at the beach, not very many people!I think we brought in most of the sand while we there and then took the rest of it home with us as well!!!

I will be thinking about that seashell thing...

  3. glad to have you back on here and glad you guys had fun. sorry for the rowdy teenagers, they really do act like they are 25 when they are 15 these days, not to sound like an old woman. that juicy bathing suit is from juicy couture and that is their signature on their clothes..to have juicy across the behind...still, not flattering on a bathing suit on a kid!! haha

  4. "Would you let your teenage daughter wear a bikini that had JUICY across the butt of the bottoms???"

Okay, I can answer this in two parts:

    1) I would not let my daughter wear a bikini--PERIOD.
    2) I would not let my daughter wear ANYTHING with 'juicy' across the butt!!

I know how frustrating that must have been for you. My husband and I went out for the rare treat of a movie Friday night and I think we were the only two over 19 in that particular movie. I got so aggravated at the kids talking. Movies cost too much to talk!!! I told him I guess we knew who were not buying their own tickets yet!
