The last time we went to the pediatrician, they detected a heart mumur in Rachel. I was freaked b/c they had 3 docs come in and listen to her heart for a really long time, and then tell me they were referring me to a cardiologist. They kept asking me if anyone had ever heard it before, and I said no, so I was worried that it was worse than they were letting on.
Yesterday was our appointment, and they did an EKG, and it looked normal, and they diagnosed her with an innocent heart murmur. Thank goodness. They said that it is fine, just an abnormal beat, and there is nothing to worry about. We are so relieved! She was such a brave trooper there! It has probaby been 2 yrs since I had to take her to the doc, and she used to scream back then, which they think is probaby why nobody has heart it before now. The cardiologist said yesterday that it usually depends on how cooperative the patient is...so that explains it right there!
I'm glad she got a good report. How funny that no one could hear it before due to the screaming! That's great that the two of you were able to go to lunch together and celebrate.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing! I am so glad! Is there a Taco Bueno in Maumelle now?
ReplyDeleteShe will be ok. I'm sorry for your scare. I have had a heart murmur for quite some time and now that I'm older it makes me notice the arrythmia. My heart skips a lot. So I take a med to keep it regulated and it's all good!! Jackson has the arrythmia too. It is scary but semi normal. :)
ReplyDeletewow, what a scare! I am glad everything is ok. Gage has a few problems and we have to go every year to the cardio - we go next week. We had a great one in Salt Lake City who had actually trained and worked in Little Rock for a long time. I am glad she was a brave girl and did so well!
ReplyDeleteI have one, that is a harmless one.
ReplyDeleteKarsyn has always had a "history of high fevers" that have resulted in febrile seizures twice. When she gets 104+ (which is pretty much any time she is sick, which is not often thank goodness) she develops a murmur. When the fever is gone, it is gone too. Weird, huh.
Kendall had one at birth but grew out of it....
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of Kyla, she used to scream everytime she went to the Doc as well, she outgrew that too.LOL
Glad that she got a good report!!
