Our homestudy is over....

And it went great. Thank you everyone for the encouraging words. I was pretty overwhelmed last night. We woke up to a good start, and a calm, clean house this morning, and I was feeling much better. And our social worker was really nice. Much better than the one that came back in April who asked us, "So WHY do you want more kids....you just like them or something??" Today the girl asked us why we wanted to be foster parents and was so nice when she asked.

So, from this point, she will go back and type up the assessment, and said she would try to finish that by Wednesday, and give me a call. Then she has to turn that over to a supervisor who will look it over, and then someone has to come in and do a final walk through. She said hopefully, this last step will go quickly. So, I just have to get my referral letters to her as soon as I can, and we will cross our fingers. We have both been so discouraged by how long we have waited on the homestudy, and she even questioned it today and said that is has been a long time for us, so it was nice to have that validation. After she left, we both said we were excited again, and ready for our kids! That was such a relief to me to have Clay say that too.

I will keep you all update!!

  1. I'm so excited for you guys. It's funny how I still get that feeling between kids. Like now, we have an open bed, so I'm very looking forward to our next child! I'm so thankful for you guys and your ministry. It's a tough walk, but it's rewarding, too.
