I am so bad about answering questions people ask me in blog posts. I will try to answer....
Heather asked about their hearing the other day. Honestly, I really didn't find anything out except that yes, they will remain in care for now, the dad is still in prison, and the mom gets supervised visits 1 hr each week. They are looking into 2 sets of grandparents that want to take them. If that happens, they have to go through some of what we did to get approved, and they will have them, but will still be their foster parents, so they will still have to answer to DHS....I THINK. If it doesn't work out for the family to take them now, then I guess they will be with us awhile. I can see us looking at maybe a year's time...or more...whoever knows, you really can't put a time on it. I can't really think about that right now. I love ,these kids so much, but I get very overwhelmed thinking about this level of chaos going on for that length of time, so we are just taking each week at a time.
I think I answered Brandy's question in the 2 below posts. My reaction to the visits? I think it was very positive for them, but at the same time, she has only asked me once this week if it was time to see her mom again. She just seems so genuinely happy all the time.
How is Clay doing?? He is pretty overwhelmed, but handling this much better than I thought he would. He is not really into babies, and we have TWO, that require him to help out a lot! He gets frustrated with them, but he is also very tender and sweet with all 3 kids, and I love to watch him interact with them. He would kill me for even talking about him on here, I can't really point out how sweet he is with them, he doesn't like me calling attention to it. I also hear a protectiveness come out in him when we talk about all 3 of them.
Feel free to ask me any other questions you guys may have~!
my goodness...I was playing a little catchup on your blog.I have never seen such delays in a child and I have a special needs child, yeah,Kendall wasnt that delayed at that age,my goodness.
ReplyDeleteI am always curious about the background checks...do the grandparents have to be completely clear or just clear of things like child abuse and such???I dont even know what they technically check for in background checks...LOL.
Early Intervention will do wonders with him,I know that for sure. They are absolutely gorgeous children!!
What about Z?Does he get visits with his family too?
