Last year we painted our Pumpkins, this year we carved ours for the first time. I say we....Clay did all the hard work. I drew off the face, and then sat at the computer the whole time listening, and jumping up every so often to take pictures of the progress.
Noah drew us off some designs to begin with to decide how we wanted our pumpkin to look
Well I think ya'll did a great job!! I don't do it either. I'm a pumkin painter.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they had great fun!
ReplyDeletegood job!! it looks great!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe knives make me nervous too. We usually buy those little pumpkin carving kits at WM for about a buck--it's more like a little saw and a bit safer.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't gotten around to carving mine. I am trying the "Martha Stewart" thing this year--using fall cookie cutters and a rubber mallett to make fall shapes in it. I also read somewhere that if you coat the inside of them with vaseline and use a battery operated tealight, they will last longer.
WOW! It looks really, really good! Way to go, Clay!!! Brian wanted to do that with Braiden this year, so I bought one of those tiny little pumkins with the long curly stem...and it's still sitting on top of my entertainment center, as whole as it was when I bought it! Oh well. I'm too scared to carve one. And, Braiden likes to "help" way too much to bring knives into the mix!! I love your pumpkin, though! It looks great lit up!!!
ReplyDeleteWe usually buy the kids one a piece but I dont think we are going to do that this year do to budget restraints,of course I could be completely wrong too-Jamie LOVES to carve.I would probably just paint as well.
