I went to Subway tonight for supper to get us a couple of the $5 footlongs, and I had 3 little girlies with me. They were full of life, especially my always giggly and happy 3 yr old, and they were just talking away. The girl in line behind me was laughing and said she taught 20 3yr old preschoolers, so she understood all that excitement in my girls. I laughed and said, "well 1 3yr old is enough for me....and 5 yr, 6 yr, and the 7 yr old brother at home that talks more than these 3!" (I didn't mention the 2 babies that are always crying at me...haha) Anwyay, she was really sweet, and we visited just briefly...I told her before I had kids I would have loved working as a preschool teacher...haha.
Anyway, as I got ready to pay, I handed him my discover card....the only form of payment I had in my wallet, and he said, "sorry, we don't take those here." So, I just said, well I will have to come back, and he said he would save them for me. As I was walking out the door, I knew in my head I wouldn't be back, but I was just too exhausted to make that drive home and come back, b/c Clay was about to leave, and I would have to load up 6 kids to come back. When I got halfway out the door, the man said, "Wait, just take it with you, it will get soggy waiting on you to come back, I trust you." So, when I got home, Clay agreed to go back by there for me to pay it when he left. When he got home, he handed me this note. That sweet preschool teacher paid my bill for me after I left. Isn't that sweet? And I don't even know her name, or how to thank her. Clay asked them at Subway if she came in there often, and they said no.
How did she know that I really needed that tonight?? While Clay had been gone around the time I wrote the last post, I was on the verge of tears b/c I was so exhausted and overwhelmed. When he handed me that note, it did wonders for my spirit. She didn't know how crazy life has been lately, but maybe, possibly, she was an angel sent from God tonight b/c he knew I needed it.
that was so nice!
ReplyDeleteI absolutly love this post! You had just posted about how tired you were and then look at the blessings. I know that our Heavenly Father is watching out for you and blessing you because you are taking on all these extra little ones. I think you are amazing!
ReplyDeleteDo you mind if I share this story on my blog too - link it? Let me know and I'll pull it off if you want. Really.
ReplyDeleteThat was super sweet!! There aren't that many sweet people out there AND the fact that the clerk trusted you says something too. Just hope that he doesn't do that often. haha :)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! Sounds like you did encounter an angel...
ReplyDeleteI think I have told you about the McDonald's receipt I keep on my bulletin board to remind me how blessed I am. You should keep that note in a very visible place for those "tough" days!
How nice!! That was such a great post! I'm not questioning her act at all...I know exactly why she went to Subway that night. I wish she knew about your blog and could see how much of an impact she had on you and your poor weary self. I'm smiling so big right now! You so completely deserved that, Maury.
