After the boat ride, we walked over to Jackson square, where the St. Louis Cathedral was. This was Clay's number one stop he wanted to make on the trip. It was beautiful, and very peaceful. We just sat down for awhile.

These were the things around the cathedral, we saw a couple and their photographer taking their engagement pictures. All these people you see in these pictures....a lot of them were people doing palm reading. Kinda interesting place....right in front of the church. And, then there was a guy singing church music at the top of his lungs behind them. He was really good. I enjoyed listening to him. In fact, I had planned on giving him some money when we walked by, but he appeared to not even be doing it to get money like a lot of people around. I didn't want to offend him by giving it to him.

This little dog....his owner called it his bike. She said she was born with this condition, and this was her 3rd bike. The reason I know that is b/c even the pets are friendly in New Orleans. There was a lady sitting beside us on a bench, and every person that passed by, stopped so that their dogs and her dog could sniff each other, and then the owners would just visit.

I assumed this man was homeless...he was pushing his shopping buggy with tarp duck taped all around....but I will say, he was a very sharp dresser....Dressed to the T.

So, after leaving here, we walked back to our hotel. Then, decided we were going to go eat at Emeril's restuaurant, "Nola". We walked all the way down one street, realized it was not on that end, walked to the other end, then decided it was going to be too expensive to eat there. Then ended up wandering around, then back to the same place we had been earlier that day, and then ate at the Hard Rock Cafe. Then, decided we wanted to ride the trolley, so walked down to one stop, realized we didn't have the correct change for the trolley, so had to walk to a store to buy gum that was $2, (everything there seemed overpriced in N.O.) and then Clay led us to a different Trolley stop. We sat there a while and decided it had stopped running for the day, and had to walk back SEVERAL blocks to our hotel. Needless to say, I was not a happy person on the way back to the hotel. Then we got back, and Clay was ready to go back out again! I was too grouchy, and pooped out by then. Good grief, I am too out of shape for all that!
you are SO funny!
ReplyDeleteman, your pictures are absolutely beautiful, as always!!
you could so enter some of these in a contest. or for a magazine. that's what you could do!! be a photog for magazines!! see, i'll have ya lined out in no time!
Emeril's place has a long waiting list from what I undertand.. like weeks or even months even.. and it is dressy atire.. like Clay would have needed a jacket! My cousin went there and said that his 1/4 of a head of lettuce with ranch poured on top (NOT CUT UP) was $12! I would have been WHAT THE HELL? YOU DIDn"T CUT MY LETTUCE UP! LOL I would have been ticked to not have cut up lettuce.. I mean VERY cut up lettuce for 12 bucks.. Life for 12 bucks they should have fed it to me!
ReplyDeleteJackson Square is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean--I would have been grouchy after all of that too! :)
