Toys

Noah's room.....(he does usually keep his clean though, but he still had SO MUCH JUNK in there!)
See, our den is now clean!

All those toys you saw in our den?? They were divided out by these 7 tubs. Each child was also able to keep one bucket full of their stuff animals that they keep in their closet. Otherwise, all other toys are divided out. Each one is labeled for the day of the week, and they only get that tub of toys that day. Oh wow, can I tell you how easy this has been???? We have been doing it since Monday, and the cleanliness of our house has improved by leaps and bounds! When you say it is time to clean up, all they have to do is put those toys in the bucket, and they are done! If they want to play with their stuff animals, the bucket has to be picked up. We spend just a few mins in the morning making beds, picking up dirty clothes, and animals, and they they get out the bucket. Then, if they want to do something outside, they have to pick up the bucket. Then before bed, we make sure the bucket has been picked up, and all the stuffed animals, and it is clean! And, we have been strickter with bedtime too, and that has gone well too. I knew that me, and the kids both needed structure BIG TIME!

This the girl's room, the pic of Noah's room is on the other computer, I will have to add it later.
This used to be Leah's room, and she moved out to get ready for more kids....and that has taken so long, I have decided to move in our school stuff and my computer instead. Now, I am sure they will finally get us approved as foster parents, and then I will be back to rearranging again. But for now, I am liking it!
This was a table that Clay had bought just the base at a flea market for just $20. Then, we screwed a board, and then a canvas over it. I then decoupaged photos to the top of it. These are pictures from our trip to the beach last year.
And this is my area of the room. Those pictures were hanging up when this was Leah's room, but I like them b/c they were from our trip to Sea World and the Memphis zoo.

  1. What a neat idea--separating the toys by day!

I love the pictures over the window in your den and the table in your school room is great!

Yep, you are probably right. Now that you have things all organized your life is probably going to be turned upside down!!!

  2. That is a great idea! Looks like it has worked for you. I love how clean the rooms look. I'm already having a hard time keeping up with toys and Declan's only 2.

  3. Love what you did. Maybe I will copy that when we finally move in our house. Do you know the name of that color in the girls' room? (the pink) That would be perfect for Lauren's room!

  5. YAY! It looks so good!!! I love the boxes idea and your rooms all look great! Maybe now that the organization and calm has arrived in your rooms, you'll feel better about other things that have been bothering you (sun, pools, clothes, stress). I love what you've done with your home! WAY TO GO, Maury!!!
